I'm Danny Adler. I dig electronic music, rock, and select other random tunes. I love to write music. I love to create almost anything. I live Maryland (so did BT! Booya!) and I go to University of MD College Park. I am majoring in Digital Media through my school's individual studies program (I got to choose which classes to take....with approval from a board). That is audio, music, graphic design, animation, film, stuff like that. Its much cooler than engineering which I was doing before. My favorite color is pink, and I like long walks on the beach at sunset. I also like to be sarcastic from time to time. I have awesome red hair.

Equipment:

All my older songs were made using my Yamaha cs1x synth. This synth is pretty old. I bought it off of ebay in 2000 I think, and I believe that it was first commercially released in '96 or so. It's not quite state of the art. I used to record myself playing the synth live, edit the recording into a loop, and ran loops in Acid Pro 3.0. If you are not familiar with music production (particularly electronic/techno stuff) this is a kindof ass-backwards way of doing things. I do not recommend this method. However, my experience with Audio has given me an appreciation for audio manipulation. You can do some cool things! BT (my idol) actually works in a similar way to my old style! All of my songs dated before 2003 were made in this style.

Currently, my main tools are Reason 3.0, Cakewalk Project5 2.0, and Acid Pro 5 to make my tunes. A lot of my music from two years to a year ago was mostly just Reason 2.5.

What does your name mean?

Long story short: I was young. I needed a screen name for AIM. The Fifth Element was one of my favorite movies and they say "green!" instead of "cool" in the future. So, I am "super cool" aka "super green." Of course this was not unique enough, and someone had already thought of this. Tack on the X because it is much cooler than some random numbers. This can be shortened to "SGX" which is cooler, or something. So, call me SGX.

Do you have an album out (in stores)?

Yes, in online stores. Check the albums section of the site. I'm not planning on having an album released through a real record company for a while. First, I would have to get a record deal, and if I did get one, the pressure, stress, and expectations of making music primarily for money would turn making music into a job more than a really fun hobby. Plus, I wouldn't be able to give away my music for free on this webpage. The most important thing to me currently is to get my music heard by as many people as possible. Free internet downloads are the best way to go. If you want to say thanks for the free music, buy my albums!

Do you play any instruments/have any training?

I played trumpet from the fourth grade until my freshman year in college. First trumpet all county band in 8th grade. Ooooyea! I also played some french horn for a short while in highschool. I don't play the piano, and I am only beginning to get some basic music theory knowledge from some classes at school.

What's the deal with remixing game tunes?

Games have some sweet tunes. Honestly, I wouldn't remix much or at all if it weren't for the recognition and attention it gets me. Posting mixes at OCremix and Vgmix generates a lot of interest in my originals which are what I am the most proud of. Doing tracks for KFSS Studios also gets my music out to another audience, so that's cool.
