| Me Semper Maneas [Short Edit] (4:30) |
12/28/05 |
Progressive Breaks |
| This track was a long time in coming. Lizz Fisher wrote the lyrics, Aurora performed the vocals. It's a breakbeat, ambient, trancy track, with nice melodies. The version here is a short edit. The full version is 8:00 long and is about 8 times better in my opinion. The full version will be available on my next album release. The title is latin for "stay with me always." |
4.13 mb - download - lyrics |
Hope you like it! Happy Holidays and whatnot! Sorry I'm keeping the full version to myself, but I want some incentive for people to purchase the album when it is out (6 months or less!). You can listen to the full version here.
If you go to my myspace page, a streaming version of my next release will automatically play. I plan to have the final released on or soon after Christmas (the 25th). Merry Christmas/happy holidays to everyone!

Crazy flash stuff |
I took a Flash art course this semester at school and just finished up my final project which was to create a sort of portfolio site for the pieces we did during the class. It is here. Enjoy the abstractness. (Oh and it needs a pretty good CPU to run smoothly unfortunately)

Game Remix/Electronic |
| Remixer sephfire basically made a kickass remix and then I went crazy on it making it more badass and adding a few things. This reminds me a bit of my Kick Your A remix; its got some strings, some badass beats, and lots of energy. Get ready. |

I had expected to get the vocal song done before this one, but that didn't happen. Soon hopefully. Enjoy.

Black SGX t-shirts available, other news |
Cafepress finally is now offering printing on black t-shirts, so I've set one up. Check the black SGX t-shirt here.
I've added a FLAC lossless audio format digital download option for when you purchase Synesthetic. My hosting service was kind enough to up my storage space for free, so it is now possible for me to store the 500 mb file.
I've started a MySpace page and am doing a little blogging. I wouldn't consider myself much of a blogger, but we'll see how it goes.
I hope to have a track available within a few days. That is the goal.

Bigbeat/hiphop |
| Featuring DJ ShoX and Frelance. This was made almost entirely in ACID Pro 5 croppin', choppin' and loopin' pieces from the original. ShoX and I collaborated on the remix and Frelance sent us some rapping to stick in. Turned out well. Pure kickass. Contains a little language that's not for the kids. |
5.27 mb - download |
This is yet another remix (been in the works for like 5 months or so). It isn't going on Better Than Sliced Beats, in case you were wondering. Speaking of which: that should be available within two weeks now.

T-shirts and other merchandise yay! |
Now you can WEAR SGX! I've got several different t-shirts, sweatshirts, a mousepad, and a mug with my new logo on them available here. I was considering waiting to make this announcement, since the shirts have my new url on them (sgxmusic.com) and I have not yet built the new site, but I've reconsidered. I make about $3 from most of the sales. If you send in a picture of you wearing one of my shirts, I will post them up on a page in my new site once that is up. Fun stuff!
Better Than Sliced Beats should be available for purchase in about 2 weeks.

New track + Remix Project details |
| Tell Me a Story [Prolixity Mix] (5:09) |
8/10/05 |
Ambient/Breakbeat |
| In case you are wondering, look up prolixity. The name makes sense if you think about telling stories and how this is different from the Compendium mix. This is pretty much TMAS [Compendium Mix] x 2 + a bunch of new material. I really kind of wandered with the new stuff, but its an interesting listen. Enjoy. The original TMAS was done all in Reason, and this remix is done all in Acid Pro and Project5 |
exclusive to BTSB |
This is my track for the remix album project. I thought I'd share it with you even though I haven't gotten everything else together and finalized.
Entry #6 Andy Jayne won the vote for the cover art and I'm working with him to create the rest of the art for the album. I will try to put a page up with all of the music entries as soon as possible, however I am waiting on a few late entries from people I know will produce really good tracks, so I am effectively somewhat re-opening the contest for submissions for about another week. If you want to work on something, please let me know before you begin so we can work something out. Sorry for delaying this, but I want to make sure the album is as great as it can be, so I think a little extra time is worth it.

One more week for Remix Project |
I've decided to allow for another week for submissions for the remix album project. Things are due on the 27th now.
| 7/19/05 |
Synesthetic is back! |
I kept being asked if Synesthetic would ever be back available for purchase, so I've brought it back. I changed up the art a bit and added Tell Me a Story [Compendium Mix] to the tracklist. It costs $11.99. I make $3 from each purchase. Buy Synesthetic v 1.1 here.
One more day left for entries for the SGX Remix album. Hopefully it will be available within a few weeks from the same place Synesthetic is being sold. Watch for that.
| Too Wide (4:12) |
7/12/05 |
Electronic |
| Fast, driving, nice melody, good beats. |
3.84 mb - download |
This song was basically me getting used to using Cakewalk P5 (which is quite sweet software). It's a bit weird; I didn't really have a goal in mind as I worked on it, and what came out was pretty upbeat and catchy. Enjoy.
Entries for the remix album are due on the 20th. I've got a couple good entries already. Coolness. Also, Synesthetic is coming back on sale soon, so watch the site.
I've put together small preview samples of the three tracks I'm working on. They're all more than half done I'd say. Hopefully I can finish up real soon. Stay tuned. Preview Here
Introducing the SGX remix album project! I'm looking for people who would like to remix my music for inclusion on a full CD album to be sold online! I need album art too! Details here.
I'm planning to do a reprint of Synesthetic due to all the emails I keep getting asking if it is still available. This time it will be sold through cdbaby.com which is a reliable online CD seller. Hopefully it will be available at the same time the remix album is ready (in a few months), as I plan to get them printed up at the same time. I don't know what the price will be, but it will be at least $10 before shipping. More info to come. Stay tuned.
| Distant (4:37) |
5/16/05 |
ambient |
| Slow, atmospheric ambient track with some piano and strings. Go somewhere nice. |
4.23 mb - download |
Sorry, this isn't either of the two tracks I was talking about earlier. Those are still in progress, and progress is actually being made. Just slowly. This track I made for a final project in a computer music course I took. I actually lost the files for it and just got them back by contacting my professor and getting back the disc I handed in to him, so that's why its popping up here now.
I used some Reason sounds, some sounds from a Kurzweil synth, and Digital Performer 4. It was odd working on this half at home and half in the school studio with tools I'm not used to, so this probably came out different than how I would have done this at home exclusively. I like it though. Its got no beat and its slow moving, so its not my usual stuff. Hope you like it.

Totally workin on new stuff! |
I can't say I've got new stuff coming out real soon, but I'm currently working on two tracks that are going to be really cool. I should be starting another soon also. All three are potentially collaborations, but that is always subject to change. I usually don't like to collaborate, but these are going to be tight! I'd love to give you an estimate of when these tracks will be ready, but collabs are tough to judge since you've got to rely on another also. If it were only me, I'd have something for you in a week or two. There will be a huge wave of SGX in a month or so!
In other news, TMAS [Compendium Mix] has totally been included in the online music game (that is soo much cooler than FFR), o2jam. The game operates somewhat like Frequency and Amplitude for the PS2 if you are familiar: you hit keys on the keyboard that correspond to notes in the song. If you mess up the key presses, you don't hear that note. There are some free songs for download and I think TMAS is one of the free ones. Others require pay to play. Crowdpleaser is currently in the process of being added, so that might be up soon.
edit: I totally overwrote my update for my Tell Me a Story mix release. Man, this site is in need of an overhaul. Soon perhaps. On the to-do list!

cardboard barrier |
That was a totally depressing update. Several people emailed me encouragement for which I am grateful for, however I think that the way I described the situation sounded worse than I meant it to. Its not a big problem! In fact, I've already started workin on some sweet stuff. Don'tcha worry! Also, Reason 3.0 is coming out a day before my birthday. Sweet.
I've been hitting some creative brick walls recently, both musical and visual/design related. I wanted to have a new site design up a while ago, but I feel that the whole idea for the new site rests on how my new logo will look, and I haven't been able to produce something I'm entirely satisfied with. A bunch of people have asked about SGX tshirts, wich is something I would like to do through Cafepress, so I really want to make sure I have a nice logo for that since it will be quite permanent. Oh, and don't offer to make something for me. I do all this myself. I don't care how awesome you are, I want to be in charge of all creative things SGX. Thanks though.
Musically, I've just been in kind of a rut. I really try to make sure I do something I haven't done before in some way in every song I do. I could churn out something that is full of junk I've done before which will not inspire me, and in turn not produce something I feel is worthwhile. I could get back in the swing of things tomorrow, or it could be a few weeks from now.
Anyways, I might be pretty quiet here for a bit. Just wanted to let you know I'm not dead and the awesomeness will most definitely resume soon!
| SGX vs BT - Communicate (SGX mix) (4:39) |
12/24/04 |
trance/breakbeat |
| This is a remix of BT's "Communicate." Unlike my other 'remixes' wich are actually arrangements, this one is actually made up mostly from modified audio samples of the original. |
6.38 mb - download |
I started this in the demo of Acid Pro 5 just to see how well it would run with Reason, but decided to finish it because I was liking how it was turning out. I encoded at a pretty high bitrate (192kbps) since this won't be on any CD ever. Enjoy!
Merry Christmas, happy holidays. This will probably be my last update to this site this year and before I redesign it. Hopefully I'll have the new site up and running within a couple weeks (I say a couple weeks, but stuff always takes longer than I plan for). See you in 2005!
I had an assignment to do an art portfolio website for my art class, so here it is: art.supergreenx.com. You can download a video I did for this same class that uses my song Composer in it in the Aural section of the site. I'd put it up here, but I'm lazy, so I'm going to wait till I've done this site's redesign. Hopfully I should be getting to that within a month over winter break. This site has been up for just over a year now. That was quick!
